“Working with the raw elements of clay, pigments, and fire is my challenge and love.”

The magic of clay created a passion that has been with me since I made my first pot at an evening class in 1965. The sporadic pottery classes I was able to squeeze in over the next 33 years, during my career in the computer industry, provided my balance and therapy.
In the fall of 1998, my husband and I arrived in Prescott, Arizona to begin a new phase of our lives. We built a home with a studio where I was finally able to immerse myself in my long-standing love of working with clay. My primary focus is functional and decorative mid-fire stoneware, hand-thrown on a potter's wheel, or hand-built. Collaborations with artists working in other mediums stretches me in new directions. For the past 17 years Barbara Andress and I have combined her welded steel work with my clay, creating unique designs. Lynn Schmitt, a jeweler and I have also created collaborations in jewelry. |
